About the Nerdy Girl
The About page. One of the most daunting pages that an author can write…or, well…type in this case. You wonder if anyone actually reads this part of a blog. Do they actually care that you once won a taco eating contest? Or that you detest breakfast foods? Or even if that’s relevant at all to this page…but anyway…
Hi, I’m Gloria and I’m a level, 26, proud nerd.
I can’t remember a time that I wasn’t obsessed with anime and writing. I’ve been writing since I could first pick up a pencil. Fanfiction was something I started when I began watching Teen Titans and it expanded from there.
It wasn’t that long ago that I was depressed, jobless and in a very unhealthy relationship. Food was my comfort and my self-esteem was as at all time low. Fast forward five years and I’m still in love with cosplay and several anime shows. Blogging is my passion and I want to be able to help others who felt the way I once did: worthless and unlovable. Because we do deserve to be happy. YOU do.
So now I’m an aniblogger, helping other otaku’s and nerds like me find their own happiness.
I am not a perfect person in any way. My mom had to show me how to put staples in a stapler when I was EIGHTEEN!
Throughout this blog, I’ll help tackle issues such as going in-depth about what having depression and anxiety really is. There will be “taboo” topics such as suicide, which I will always post warnings beforehand as they can be a trigger for some of us. Most of these posts will be about lifting up your self-esteem and becoming comfortable in your own skin.
On the other side, there will be other posts dealing with cosplays and how you can make the outfits as well! I love finding cheaper ways than just buying a hundred dollar outfit online. Cosplay has been such an outlet for me and I know for others as well.
There will be tons of anime reviews and theories on many shows such as Miraculous Ladybug and Inuyasha. Anime helps with depression so much and I can’t wait to share this world with you.
